Thomas Muller has expressed happiness about his new contract with Bayern Munich, emphasizing that his relationship with the German giant is not just a working relationship, but that Bayern is his passion.
The future of Thomas Muller was questioned among the many speculations that started about possible transfers of the 30-year-old since the beginning of this 2019/20 season.
After losing his place as a regular in the reigning German champions under coach Niko Kovac, the German was said to be determined to continue his career with another club.
However, now he has regained his place in the first lineup, as new coach Hansi Flick trusts his experience and quality. This has led Muller to win a new contract, which was formalized today and is valid until 2023.
“We both signed this contract with a good feeling. I am sure that when we start playing again, we will continue to be successful. That motivates me to move forward, “said Muller.
“For me, the number one priority was to renew my contract with Bayern and the club had the same opinion. “I’ve been with Bayern for two-thirds of my life, so I can’t say that the club and I are just on a journey together – we’re fighting for each other.”
“This club is not just an old employer for me, it’s my passion. I am happy to be here for another two years and I will give everything both on and off the pitch.
Muller has only played for Bayern Munich throughout his career. During this period, the Bavarian has made a total of 521 appearances in official matches for Bayern, scoring 195 goals.
