Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich that keeps him at the Allianz Arena until 2023, ending speculation about the future.

The 34-year-old goalkeeper has made a total of 375 appearances for the German club, which he joined in 2011 when he was transferred from Schalke.

He helped the Bavarians win 18 major trophies during his time at the Allianz Arena. Including seven Bundesliga titles, four German Cup titles and the 2013 Champions League.

“Manuel is the best goalkeeper in the world and he is our captain.” said Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummennige in a statement announcing Neuer’s contract renewal.

With this new contract, the German goalkeeper puts an end to the constant speculation about his future. Chelsea were interested in transferring the German. Whose preliminary contract expired in 2021.

These speculations were prompted by a statement from Neuer this year. Who sharply criticized Bayern after detailed data from talks on his contract were published in the media.

“All the conversations I have had since 2011 have always been held with great confidence. Nothing has ever been discovered. But now details have been revealed from the current talks and have come out in the media. Which are often not even true. This bothers me.” I don’t know Bayern like that.”

However, now the situation has changed and Neuer has signed a new contract with Bayern, which will keep him at Allianz until 2023.
